Windows 10: Can't switch to a different user on my Windows 11 laptop

Out of nowhere recently, I have been unable to switch to the other user on my laptop. I have tried to search up many solutions but none of them seem to be working. When I try to switch users through methods such as Alt + F4 or Ctrl Alt Del, nothing happens. I do not want to lose the data on my laptop as it is very important and can not reboot it. The user I am on right now, isn't even the main user of the laptop.

I suggest you to follow the below steps to Switch users.

• 
  Press Ctrl + Alt + Del key altogether.
  
• 
  Click on Switch User.
  
• 
  Select the user with which you want to login.
  

If computer starts up with a user other than the one you want, login to that user account and switch user to the account that you need and check.

How to sign in to Windows 10 as different User

There are several ways that you can do to switch between your 2 accounts, such as going through
Start menu, through Ctrl +
Alt + Delete screen, through Sign-in
screen or through Task Manager. For us to isolate the issue, we would like to ask the following questions:

• Are you connected to a domain or managed by Windows Server?
• Have you made any recent changes to your system settings prior to this issue?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

In the meantime, we suggest that you follow these steps to switch user account:

• Click/tap on your desktop to make it the current focused (active) window, and press
  Alt + F4 keys to open Shut Down Windows window.
• Click on the drop down menu and select Switch user.
• You will now be taken to the lock screen to unlock.
• It will show you the sign-in screen to select and sign in to the account you want to switch to.
