Windows 10: can't switch to rear facing camera

I've checked every post I can and cannot get this to work. I've uninstalled drivers and restarted, reset the OS. I had Avast, it was uninstalled with the reset. I installed it again for a virus scan in case a driver had become infected. I uninstalled Avast again.


It was working until I installed a product to identify flowers via photo. At that time the icon to switch frnt to back was no longer there. I'm not sure what came first, the app install or the camera failing. At any rate I assumed any issues with that software would have been resolved following the reset and driver re-installs.


I'm not sure if these issues are related -

- My facial recognition is pretty flaky. I brought this up some time ago via chat. The tech had me run the "improve image". When that worked the case was closed. I gave up on the pursuit and enter my pin on a semi-regular basis.


- when I close the laptop without shutting down and leave it for a long while when I open it the camera flashes a few times then the keyboard goes dark XPS 13 has a back-lighted keyboard. I have to wait about 10 seconds or so before the power button works again.


- Before all this started I got a message that the camera was not found on startup but that was a one time event.


- I got an error message once during all this, I didn't record it, cant remember what I was doing. I think it ended in 44. I looked up the associated message and it appeared to be a privacy issue.


I'm not sure what the appropriate category should be. Sorry if I'm seated at the wrong table.

My rear facing camera on my Nextbook Flexx 9 is not working.

When i go to switch from main to rear it tells me its not been installed and gives

me a oxa00f424a error code. When i open printers and cameras it runs the wizard until the

last step and then closes while restarting my computer. HELP.
