Windows 10: Can't switch user in upgraded install of 10240

    Can't switch user in upgraded install of 10240


    I'm facing a strange problem on one of my rigs. I have 3 MSAs on it, but I simply can't switch user. I see the other accounts in "Settings", but when I log off or try to fast switch I don't have other user options.

    Upgrade from 10162 to 10240

    i am an insider. I've been on both slow and fast rings. It's not the ring that makes the difference as far as I know (i've switched between them and it makes no difference).

    It's the fact that you need an activated install of 10162 for it to upgrade to 10240... and new installs of 10162 can no longer be activated because MS stopped the previous activation keys working.

    Is there a work around to get upgrade to 10240 without activating 10162? Or is there a new key to activate 10162?

    How can i update my computer to the latest version of Windows.

    did you install or upgrade to windows insider build 10240, did you upgrade a win7 or win8.1 computer to win10 (rtw) 10240, or did you do a clean install of win10 (rtw or preview) 10240?

    Hello Shawn,

    Very odd indeed ! After some time trying to switch I decided to remove all Microsoft Accounts from that rig, log in with a local account, remove all members of my family in MSA settings and add them again. Now it's working normally.
