Windows 10: Can't Update Due to (Nonexistent) Avast

Discus and support Can't Update Due to (Nonexistent) Avast in Windows 10 Customization to solve the problem; Windows says it can't update because of Avast, but I uninstalled Avast and the update is still complaining about it.     Windows says it can't update because of Avast, but I uninstalled Avast and the update is still complaining about it.

    Can't update avast

    Avast is saying my virus definitions are out of date yet after a couple of seconds of trying to update it tells me the package is broken.

    So, err. What's going on here?
