Windows 10: Can't update Error 0x80240034 on Windows 10

Hi,


I have tried a lot of stuff,


Windows 10 Pro N installed and activated with digital license upgraded for free from 7 Ultimate N, version 1803


Windows update fails to update to 1903, states Error 0x80240034


Windows Update trouble shouter comes back with "data base error"


I went through several solutions around, finishing and restarting services using cmd, deleting stuff using also cmd, I called MS support and the guy went also through all those steps, couldn't fix it.


So I tried using an ISO image created with the Creation tool, it asks for my product key, I don't have one because this is a digital activation. I tried using my windows 7 key and the key that can be retrieved using 3rd party tools, neither worked.


People at support told me I would need a Windows 10 Pro N iso image which isn't provided by MS.


I have found around the web some post claiming the media creation tool or the windows 10 installer allows to choose for windows 10 pro N version, i have not encountered such an option,


So which are my options? I can find old Windows 10 Pro N ISO like for 1703 version, but I wonder if it is going to accept my key.


Any other way MS can help with the problem? support over the phone hit a wall because they can't provide a windows 10 pro n ISO. for 1909, neither can fix the data base error.


Could I restore my OS from my current OS installation and see if that fixes the data base issue?

Update version 1803 (3) always fails with error 0x80240034

That error code means the download could not complete successfully....

In such cases, an in-place upgrade using an ISO made by Microsoft's Media Creation Tool should succeed where windows update fails. Note that the MCT now makes install media for the current version which is 1809. That should not be a problem and would be the version I'd use in your place (and am using on my PC). But if you really insist on upgrading to 1803 you'll need to use an 1803 ISO. This 3rd-party tool from Heidoc can generate a link to get one direct from Microsoft.

Windows 10 getting update error for version 1803 - 0x80240034

Hi there,

I am currently stuck at trying to update my Windows 10 from version 1709 to 1803 and getting 0x80240034 error. I have tried many ways to fix it like;

• check if there is vpc blocking windows update.
• downloading Microsoft Update Standalone Package from Windows Catalog and tried to update manually, however, I always get update not applicable for this computer error even though I downloaded the correct version.
• tried Windows 10 Update Assistant which didn't work because after it downloads and restarts the I see "undoing changes" warning
• tried to reset windows update stack from following the thread Windows Update Failure 3 - Windows 10 Forums, which indeed reset the stack but still no luck

I also did another research to see if there are any error logs which I found some from Event Viewer. Here are two different error logs associated to update events;

• ErrorCode 2359302, CommandLine "C:\Windows\system32\wusa.exe" "C:\Users\\Downloads\windows10.0-kb4467682-x64_7ef625075cf39550f9e9fa5bb069c0686731c47d.msu"
• ErrorCode 2149842967, CommandLine "C:\Windows\system32\wusa.exe" "C:\Users\\Downloads\windows10.0-kb4051613-x64_b2b1d0c13c89c6da1505178557b2150588a0358e.msu"
