Windows 10: Can't Update from Windows 10 1809 to 1909 - 0x80070002 - 0x20009

Hi All,


I have tried several times to upgrade from Windows 10 1809 to 1909. It will download and install, but the moment it reboots to finish the install, where you see the blue screen where it is supposed to run the upgrade it immediately restarts afterwards.


Here is what I have tried

1. Running DISM RestoreHealth and then deleting SoftwareDistribution files - https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...ion-1909/8cc97bbf-5fce-4ac2-a228-948ef7945ce0

3. Tried disconnecting my second hard-drive, then installing with Update Assistant - https://social.technet.microsoft.co...se-with-an-error-during?forum=win10itprosetup
4. Noticed in Device Manager that there was one device without a driver - unplugged it and retried with update assistant

Nothing has worked yet. I was wondering if there was any log that would indicate what the exact problem is.


The following screenshot was taken at attempt 2 In-Place Upgrade. Since they all seem to fail after reboot it shows the Windows Updating blue screen at 0% and then immediately reboots and does not perform the upgrade, I assume they are the same issue.

WIN 8.1 to WIN 10 upgrade error 0x80070002-0x20009

I cannot update to windows 10. The problem my computer having is like this : Once it finishes 2713.8 MB of update with Windows Update or MCTx64, computer restarts, then the screen for updating to windows
10 comes for a second and it restarts at 0%. Once I boot up to windows this error pops up:

"0x80070002-0x20009

The installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during PEPARE_ROLLBACK operation."

 

Windows 10 1909 Causes Secondary Hard Drive to not be Recognized

Installing the Windows 10 1909 Update causes my secondary hard drive to not be recognized.

Steps to confirm issue:

• Secondary drive not visible in Windows Explorer
• Secondary drive not visible in device manager
• Secondary drive not visible in disk manager

Steps to replicate issue:

• Installing 1909 update

Steps to resolve issue:

• Uninstall 1909 update

Since updates can only be delayed for so long, an actual fix would be appreciated.

 

Windows 10 update 1909

Hey,

I've just clean installed windows 10. It is build 1803.

Today awesome 1909 have launched. I want to update to 1909 but in settings it is showing me option to upgrade to 1809. My friend told me I have to upgrade to 1809, then 1903 and then finally 1909.

I want to directly upgrade to 1909 without going through intermediate steps. How can I do this?
