Windows 10: Can't Update OS

It has been 3 or 4 months since my PC stopped updating automatically. Though I know its alarming I didn't mind it at first until my PC was attacked by a .grod Ransomware last week, I lost all my files. This became possible due to the fact that my PC is not updating and the Defender together with it leaving my PC vulnerable to these attacks. It's safe to say that the PC is cleared of any remains of the virus but still the files are non-retrievable to this point of time. All of this can easily been avoided only if my PC keeps up with the updates. I just found out that the issue started with this error code: (0x80070424). I spent couple of days looking for solutions online but non of which worked to solve the problem. Any assistance will be much appreciated with.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
