Windows 10: Can't update past 1803

havent updated my windows in a solid 2 years and i was starting to experience frequent bsod frequent as in twice a day ish and so i decided that maybe a windows update would fix things. turns out my windows is over 2 years out of date. But, it will NOT update. i have tried installation media i have tried update assistant, everytime it installs the update my computer restarts, does the blue screen "windows is working on updates" thing, and then goes to a black screen that says "undoing changes made to this pc" and then sends me back to the login screen, still with version 1803.


Im saving wiping my drive and fresh installing as a last resort but honestly i dont know what there is left for me to do at this point.

Win10: windows update stuck at never ending loop ?

When in win10:

• Update&security -> Windows update -> Finding update... .... .... ....

Planning to download the latest Win10.ISO (vers.1803) and manually update:
- Then wait that my ordered new SSD arrives and clone the old HDD to it.

 

Unable to update Windows 10 Pro version 1709 to 1803

Have made several attempts to update Windows 10 version 1709 to the latest version 1803 and have not been successful.

I've done the following per some suggestions found online:

• Updated drivers
• Ran the Trouble Shooter for Windows 10 (Errors found were shown to be "Fixed" per the tool)
• Unplugged the printer

Although not at every attempt, I have received the following errors:

• 0xc1900101
• 0x80070643

Can someone please advise me as to what the errors are and provide me with the steps to update Windows.

Best thermal paste

Most decent thermal paste is about all the same (1-2 degree difference). Without knowing the two listed, (I use MX-2), I would suggest going with the one that is non-conductive.
