Windows 10: Can't update Windows 10 ; given error 0x800f0805

For some reason I can't get my computer to update to the latest Windows 10 update (Cumulative Update for Windows 10 version 1803 for x-64 based Systems (Kb4471325) with the Windows Update application. I am given Error 0x800f0805.


I have tried suggestions listed here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/10164/fix-windows-update-errors


I have attempted to manually install the update after downloading it from here: https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=KB4471324 but for some reason I am given an error message saying the update isn't for this computer. (I double-checked my OS and confirmed I have a 64-bit windows 10 OS).


In the Command Prompt program when I run command: "DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth" (without quotations I am give this output: "The specified package is a not a valid Windows package. The DISM file can be found at C:\Windows\Logs\DISM\dism.log"


When I run command: "sfc /scannow" I am told everything is good however.



I don't know what else to do to update my PC. I think I have a registry error but I'm unsure how to fix it. Can anyone please assist?

Windows Update problem after disc change - Error 0x800f0805

Thank you for the reply. I include my feedback on the issue:

I performed a clean boot according to the steps. On this boot I tried,

• Updating through Windows Update (threw error 0x800f0805)
• Updating through Windows 10 Update Assistant as the link suggested (threw error 0x8007001f).

The last way to fix the “0x800f0805 ” update error is to manually download the update from the Microsoft Update Catalog. Since the error with this code appears mainly on cumulative updates, you should be able to manually download and install the update. ...
You just need to download and install the missing update.

1) Start your computer and log on as an administrator.

2) Click the Start button then select All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then click System Restore.

3) In the new window, select "Restore my computer to an earlier time" option and then click Next.

4) Select the most recent system restore point from the "On this list, click a restore point" list, and then click Next.

5) Click Next on the confirmation window.

6) Restarts the computer when the restoration is finished.

I'm trying to update the computer but every time i press retry this message pops up":
