One thing you can try is from the shutdown menu of Windows 10, click restart. Repeatedly press the DVD drive eject button throughout the restart process. If the DVD drive opens during the restart process, then it is likely a driver problem. If the DVD drive makes noise like it is trying to open, but doesn't, then it is likely a hardware problem.

If the drive doesn't open by pushing the button I really don't think it's a software issue. You can try opening it right after u power up before Windows even loads and see what happens. Did u try removing it and let Windows redetect it. You shouldn't have to open the case to do that. If it's under warranty contact Acer and get them to replace it.

Welp, my friend says that you can't take it out without touching any screws.Umm.... Last summer, I had it in a bag and fell with a bike with it.Maybe the wires got separated? Is that possible? Also, by trying to open it when booting up the laptop, do I open it with the paper clip?

you could try to boot into the bios.

and press the eject button while in bios.

also does the drive light show while the system first turns on? and does it light up when you push the eject button.

if none of those things work. then its not a window problem. the drive might have a hardware problem. and it was just random it happened in windows 10.

It's true that you usually have to remove a couple of screws on the back. Not the same as opening the case though. It really sounds that your worried about the warranty, you need to contact them. From what you've said so far, it seems pretty certain that it's a hardware issue. Call them up an go from there.

Ok,so I did some stuff, I restarted the PC a couple of times and the DWD drive was there. Now, I can open it by button, it has the green light, but when I put a disc in, it started spinning but it stopped after a bit. I refreshed and it was gone, but I can still open it
    What is the problem?

At this point IMHO it seems your have three choices; roll back to 8.1 and see if that fixes it, call your warranty provider for help, or replace the drive yourself.

I'm in the process of rolling back to 8.1. Thanks for the idea!I'll get back with news

Yes you can make another partition, the question is do you really want to? How big is your primary drive? I'd concider either another external drive or a thumb drive. Both are fairly cheap and offer more flexibility.

160 GB thumb drive?!?!!!! Well, I suppose a 256 GB thumb drive is $60, now that I actually looked.

Wouldn't be my first choice either, but before I partitioned a hd on a laptop I'd have to consider it. Laptops aren't known for their huge HDs and I think something external is a safer alternative.
