Windows 10: cd/dvd driver

I have been trying to get my cd/dvd driver to work ever since a Windows update messed it all up. I don't know why Windows feels the need to remove software from peoples computers just because they think cd/dvds are becoming obsolete. that is really not the case, its only an assumption by Microsoft. I need my drive for creating dvds for special occasions and gifts. been doing this for years and now I cannot even access my cd/dvd drive. its been one issue after another. Don't tell m e to uninstall because I have already tried all that. and none of it worked. I'm getting really pissed now because I've tried all the suggestions and I get nothing. I cant even find out how to install the software for my device. And because Microsoft caused this issue, I should not have to pay from my pocket to fix this issue. I need this driver back onto my computer. If I put a cd or dvd in the drive, it wont even open. I cant find it in my file explorer and cant even open it from there. All the so called help out there for this is bogus and does not help me.


Please provide me with some help that will actually work.

CD/DVD Drive not recongnizing

I would suggest you to install the latest drivers for CD/DVD drive from the manufacturer’s website or can update the drivers by following the steps provided below:

• Press “Windows key + R” and type “devmgmt.msc”.
• Right click on DVD/CD Roms from the list and select
  properties.
• Under Driver tab click on Update button and follow the prompts to update the driver.

CD/DVD not loading any of my pc games

Hi,  

This issue might occur due some problem with display drivers.

I suggest you to update DVD / CD drivers and check if it helps.

Please follow the steps below and check if it helps.

• Press Windows key + X and click on
  Device Manager.
• 
  Expand DVD/CD ROM.
  
• 
  Right click on the video driver and select
  Update Driver Software.

Method 1: Follow these steps to run the windows in built troubleshooter:

• 
  1. Write Troubleshooting in the search box and hit enter.
  
  2. Click on Troubleshooting tab.
  
  3. Click on view all option on the upper left corner.
  
  4. Select the Hardware and Device options from the list.
  
  5. Click Next to run the Hardware and Device Troubleshooter.
  

Method 2: I suggest you to update the DVD/CD-ROM drivers on your computer and check if it helps. Refer the below steps to update the driver.

• 
  1. Press “Windows + X” and select Device manager.
  
  2. Select DVD/CD-ROM and expand the driver icon.
  
  3. Right click on the driver icon and click on Update.
  
  4. Follow the onscreen instructions to update the driver.
  
  5. Restart the computer and check if the issue is resolved.
