Windows 10: Certain Taskbar/Tray Things Not Working

Lately, I have been having issues with my taskbar. Certain actions that used to work no longer work. These actions include: Right clicking on a taskbar icon, left clicking on the volume icon, left clicking on network icon, clicking on notification center icon, and clicking on the clock. My guess is that some system file is corrupted or bugged with the update, but I don't know which file it is.

With regard to your query about the system tray, we suggest that you follow the steps below and see if it helps.

• Right-click on an empty space in your desktop taskbar and select Properties.
• In the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties window, find the selection labeled
  Notification Area and click on Customize.
• Click on Turn system icons on or off.
• If you'd like to always show all icons, turn the slider window to On.
• Reboot the PC for the changes to take effect.

Hiding labels for certain programs on the taskbar

That's the thing - I want to keep the application open on the desktop, I just don't want the taskbar button to be so large.

Lost clock and calendar from system tray after update on September 25, 2016

Hi,

There are several reasons why this issue happens. To help you resolve this concern, we suggest that you adjust the height of the system tray. Kindly follow the steps below:

• Right-click on the system tray.
• Make sure that the Lock all taskbars
  option is unchecked.
• Try positioning your cursor at the top edge of the system tray until you see a vertical line with arrows at both tips.
  
• Hold the left mouse button down and drag the edge of the system tray upward to expand it.
