    Change "Empty Recycle Bin" icon and text in context menu


    I am looking to change the text possibly the icon displayed in the context menu when right clicking on the recycle bin. I have seem plenty of people show how to remove or add it from the context menu, but how would one alter it?

    Hi George,

    To prevent your files from being deleted from the Recycle Bin, we suggest increasing the maximum file size your Recycle Bin can keep by following the steps below:

    • Right click on the Recycle Bin icon.
    • Under the Settings for selected location, select Custom size.
    • Fill up the box for your allotted maximum file size for your Recycle Bin.

    How to show 'Empty recycle bin' when right-clicking in the Recycle bin icon

    Hello Jesus,

    Does the Recycle Bin itself on your desktop show the correct full and empty icon?

    If so, then you might see if using the method in the tutorial below to restore the "Empty Recycle Bin" context menu for the Recycle Bin may also be able to fix its icon for you.

    Recycle bin missing from send-to Context menu

    Hi Ozzie, I am Rob, a volunteer and a 10 time and dual award MVP specializing in Windows troubleshooting and Bluescreen analysis.

    Microsoft for some unknown reason removed the Recycle Bin from the Context Menu though you can add it back in.
