  1. Change in default removal policy for external storage media in Windows 10

My newly installed Windows 10 does not save my changes to the removal policy. When I change the policy to better performance for my Seagate Expansion drive and then safely remove the drive, the policy is changed back to Quick Disconnect when I reattach the drive. I have followed this procedure:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/wi...default-removal-policy-external-storage-media

I used this process for safe removal:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4051300/windows-10-safely-remove-hardware

Option 5 seems to be the only available option for my WINDOWS 10.

Is there any way to permanently save the removal policy? I have two Seagate Expansion drives and want to have better performance policy on both without having to set it every time I use these drives.

    Thanks.

    :)

Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media not working

Yes, I just blogged about this yesterday. MS changed the default from "Safely remove/Better performance" to "Quick Removal" with the introduction of 1809. You can also reset the policy from Disk Management to get "Safely remove" to show back up: 1809 Defaults to Quick Removal for External Storage Win10.Guru. See this April 3, 2019, MS Support Note for the inside scoop.

  4. Change in default removal policy for external storage media in Windows 10

Change default media player in Windows 10

I want to change my default printer but there is no way to do this in Windows 10. When I right click on the printer that I want as my default there is no choice that says make this default printer. Somehow the choice that is chosen is the fax part of the
printer. Why is this so complicated? When I look on the Windows website it shows what to do for Windows 7 and the info is incorrect for Windows 10. When I went into Default Programs as was suggested my Ashish Sondhi there was no info as to how to choose
    a default printer. Please help.
