Windows 10: Change Item Order in "New" Context Menu?

W10: LTSB 2016 (build 1607).

Basically this menu:





Is there a way to sort the order? Other methods don't seem to work with this sub-menu.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks!

Hi, that's not straightforward, and is not, I think possible for Windows default entries.

The list is partly enumerated, partly in registry order... it's not entirely fixed.

Rename item in New context menu

There are many well descripted sources about how to add/delete item from context menu new – for instance

Edit, Add, Remove items from New Context Menu in Windows 10 – but none of them states how to rename such item in reliable way.

I found article
Change Name/Description in windows context menu about this but it is not applicable in my case – sister key is not findable.

Ah, I apologize self. Yes, yes, although this is handy tool, it hasn’t ability to change New context menu item description. There is option to change file type description but these two seems to come from different source (registry value?).
