Change Only Text Size settings revert to default at each login

Hello. I know how to use 'Change Only the Text Size' (in the Control Panel's Display applet) to make certain elements larger and/or bolder, and this works fine on one of my 2 PCs. But on the other, the setting lasts only for the current session. At each reboot they're all back to unbolded 9pt, which for me is so small and faint it's almost comically useless.

Both PCs are running Win 10 Pro, both are recent (though non-identical) Dell desktops, and both are used for very similar -- and mundane -- tasks. What on earth could be making one of them lose its settings at each boot? *Confused

Note: This isn't a case of the settings being grayed out. I know the drill there -- I don't have a custom scaling level set.

    Many thanks for any clues.

    Mark

    :)

  3. Why are text size settings going back to default after reboot in Windows 10?

Tried all the suggestions I found in the community forums and FAQs for Windows 10 and no matter how many times I change my display text sizes for Menus, Message Box, etc., they revert BACK to the default settings each time the computer reboots.

I even have saved the theme with a new name after changing those font sizes, but they don't want to "stick." Anyone have any clue how to resolve this?

    Thanks.
