Windows 10: Change Password sign into computer NOT Micorosoft account password

I was asked to input my PIN into Microsoft earlier to solve a non-password related issue I was having, and I ended up having to reset the PIN in Settings. Now when I try to sign into my laptop it's asking for the PIN instead of a password. I want to set the login to the same password as I had prior to restting the PIN, I do not like the PIN option. I tried going into Settings -> Accounts -> Sign-in options and resetting the password as suggested by another forum, but all this did was reset my Microsoft account password, and I still need to use the PIN to login. How do I change my computer sign-in to require a password and not a PIN? Thanks in advance.

you know when you boot up your computer... and yeha i have more than one account and I forgot the password to one of them.

is there anyway for me to get in to the account? or the account will be perminant lock if i dont remember password?

1. Which version of Windows 10 is currently installed in your computer?

2. Are you using a Microsoft Account to log into your computer?

To open System Properties and check the version of Windows, follow the steps below:

1. Open Run Command (Windows button+R).

2. In the dialog box type control system and hit enter.

If you are using a Microsoft Account to log into your system and you are unable to change the password, then I would suggest that you sign in online and change your password. Follow the steps below to do so.

• 1. Click on the link below to open the Microsoft site, and then select
  Security & privacy.

• Select Change password.

  Enter your current password, then the new password you want, then enter the new password again.

If you are using the Microsoft account to log in, I would like to inform you that it is not possible to sign into Windows without the password.

If you would like to change the password for the Microsoft Account, I suggest you to refer to the link provided below and check if that helps.

If you would like to change the password for the local account, please follow the below steps:

  Press "Windows" and now the Start Menu will appear, click on your account on the top, and then select
  "Change account settings".

  "Settings" on the Start Menu, click "Accounts" to open the Accounts settings.

  Choose "Sign-in options" on the left panel, and then click on

However, you may create a local account/user account and use that account to sign in, so that it will not ask you for the password when signing in.

Once you have created a local account, Please follow the below steps, if you would like sign in to a user account without password.

• Press Windows +
  R.
• Type netplwiz.exe
• Uncheck this box “Users must enter a username and password to use this computer” and press apply.
• Automatically sign in password box prompts. Write your Password twice and press OK.
