Windows 10: Changed Notification sound, now the notification doesn't work

I have changed the notification custom and when I tested it, it worked fine.

So I applied it.

This is the route that I went through when changing the notification sound

[control panel -> sound -> change sound system ->notification]

But after changing it, whenever the notification pops up, it makes no sound.

I am so confused right now. I tried to update my driver but still doesn't work.

Yeah, thats not a solution she is interested in......I've suggested that course of action. Thanks though.

Just to clarify, I feel that there MUST be a step, or series of steps to turn off JUST the wireless notification sound. Thats what Im driving @ here.

• 
  In the App list, tap Settings > Notifications + actions, then tap an app from the list.
  
• 
  Tap Notification sound, and then do one of the following:
  
  • Tap Play to preview a sound, and then tap the name of the sound you want to use.
  • If you don’t want to hear a sound for a notification, tap None.

Notification sounds are missing!!!!

Please provide some additional information, so that we can assist you better.

1. What is the make and model number of your computer?
   
2. Have you made any changes on your computer?
   

However, I suggest you to follow the below mentioned step:

1. Go to “Control panel”.
   
2. Select ‘Sound’.
   
3. Under sounds tab select ‘Program event’.
   
4. Under program event, select ‘Notification’.
   
5. Make sure you select ‘Notification’ sound for startup application and system notification.
