Windows 10: Changing Cortana's volume.

It was really easy, you don't have to download anything. Open your Volume Mixer, then say, "Hey Cortana" and when she pops up a Cortana volume slider will also pop up in the mixer.

Cortana changes Mic volume to 100%

I agree! On mine, it changes the volume from 100% to 34% and i have to manually change it back after using Cortana.

There is a catch though... If this is added as a feature of Cortana, I think the changes in Mic volume from within Cortana should only affect Cortana.

For example:

User changes volume of the mic in Cortana to 85%, but has it set to 100% in system volume settings.

When the user says "Hey Cortana!" Cortana would change the mic volume to 85% while she's listening, then change it back to 100% when she's not listening.

I understand that you are in a frustrating situation, because you face issues with Cortana volume on Windows 10.

I would like to inform you that, you cannot reduce just the Cortana sound alone. Cortana sound is coming through the speakers and if you want to reduce the Cortana volume, then you need to reduce the volume on the computer. There is no setting to reduce
only the volume of Cortana.


Also, I would like to inform you, that Cortana uses Bing as the default search engine and you cannot change this Cortana setting.

Change Cortana icon back to default

I will certainly help you with the issues you are facing with Cortana.

To assist you better, kindly explain what steps you performed to change the Cortana icon?

I suggest you to follow below steps to turn off Cortana’s personalization:

• 
  Go to Cortana >
  Notebook > About Me.
  
• 
  Click to select your
  Microsoft account.
  
• 
  On the Account page, click again to select your Microsoft account.
  
• Select Sign out and restart the system, again sign in back and check.

I suggest you to install all the available Windows updates and check the issue.

Also, I suggest you to check the issue in other user accounts if you have any. If you don't have other user accounts, then I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue persists.
