  1. Changing listing order of files and folders in File Explorer

Microsoft is engaged in an annoying game of intentional behavior modification. Win 10 is making everything default to the OneDrive folder, and they're putting the OneDrive listing prominently so that if you aren't extra careful, you put your stuff in that folder and not the one you want.

I'd like to put the OneDrive folder below the "This PC" and "Network" Icons in the File Explorer listing. Or perhaps I could set a bit to "hide", which would be ideal.

This torqued me enough so that I installed Ubuntu and my machine dual boots now. Using it, and the Libra suite. Works pretty good.

If I'm wrong I may stick around Win 10 for a while. Can anyone help me? Thanks!

    :)

Generating a .txt based file list in Windows 7

I want to be able to generate a .txt file that lists all the files and folders in a specific folder on my PC, but don't know the name of any programs that do that. Searched on google a bit and came up with this guide, but it's for XP and I can't seem to find some of the folder options to modify the .bat file. Any suggestions? Thanks

EDIT: The .bat file will do what I want if it is in the folder I want to do it in, but the option I want to add is having the right click option that it shows.

Changing listing order of files and folders in File Explorer

    File Explorer list order.

    Hi chzuck

Generally Windows 10 will order a folder with sub-folders first, then files . . .

Open a folder of files, on the View Ribbon, in the layout section, set view to Details and on the View Ribbon, make sure Group By is set to None

Then click on the Name column header so that arrow faces up to order the files alphabetically

Then set your view to either List or Thumbnails . . .

Does that result in your preferred view?
