Extract the Windows 10 retail product key

I tried to find the retail product key of Windows 10 with software like Nirsoft's ProduKey and Belarc Advisor. But the code they show doesn't match the code written on the official paper.

How do I get the right product key out of Windows?

    Product Key

Unfortunately, a product ID cannot be used as a replacement for a product key.

If you bought a retail license then you should have your product key in your account or in the product box.

See how to find your product key depending on how you acquired it.

If its a retail key, you will need to try either of the following:

Click Start > Settings > Update & security > Activation

    Scroll down, click 'Troubleshoot'

Sign in with your MIcrosoft Account

Select the machine you previously had it on in the activation wizard then click Next.

If that does not work, change the machine name to the one you have listed in the activation window, restart then see if it reactivates automatically.

    If not....
