    Charger Overheating and Leaking


    I plugged my charger but then after a few seconds my laptop stopped charging. This was my mother's house. There was something weird about the electricity. The lights were flickering and the inverter was making weird noises. I then later checked the laptop adapter (the box part of the charger), it was overheating and some weird smelling liquid was leaking a bit from the sides. Should I buy a new charger or is there hope in the charger getting fixed?

    Reset the device won't helps to control overheating problem.

    • Are you using Original charger comes with your phone?
    • Are you installed any preview build version?

    Hi,

    Though I read your suggestion but still i have one question. would overheating effect the RAM or any port if i use high amplified charger.. my device is lumia 540 and the charger capacity is 0.75A and my new charger's output is 1.5A. is that going to damage
    my device??
