    I have a microsoft family account for my daughter and son for them to play Minecraft. Two different computers, two different accounts.


    My daughter's works like it should: When she wants to buy something, it asks me when it needs to. I can put money in her microsoft account and it can be used to buy Minecoins.


    My son's is different for some reason. I bought microsoft money for his microsoft account. But when he went to buy things it wanted my pin and used my microsoft account to buy stuff.


    I swear it looks like Minecraft is logged in through/connected to his microsoft/xbox account.


    I thought maybe it was because he was signed into my Windows on the computer. So I made him his own Windows account. Now none of the accounts mine or his seem to know that we have already purchased Minecraft.


    I just want him to be able to play preferably on his own Windows log in and actually use his Microsoft money that was gifted to him and ask me for permission when appropriate. But the whole microsoft/family/xbox/mojang/windows/minecraft log in game is so overly complicated to me and I'm really confused.

    Thanks for the suggestion, but I did the following instead.

    I have another laptop, 2 weeks old, with Windows 10 Home on it.

    On that one, I tried the same steps with the child account, and got the exact same results.

    Adding money to your child's account helps them shop responsibly. Were there any error codes or messages appearing when you tried adding money to the account? Is it a new way to pay or you're trying to update the account?

    Hi Jeff,

    Perhaps certain steps required to send money to a child's account were skipped. Can you follow the instructions in this
    article and see if the steps you performed are identical?

    Also, where do you receive this error message? Is it on the step where you click "Next" after choosing the amount you want to add or is it upon clicking "Add money"?

    We'll be waiting for your response.
