Windows 10: Chkdsk stuck at 11% and can't cancel

Recently updated from 1803 to 1809

and it worked when I woke up. After restart it was stuck at loading dots. When I went to safe mode it said couldn't complete changes undoing but my windows version was still 1809 and my PC worked fine when I disabled driver siganture enforcement. Now it doesnt work with that and the internet told me to do chkdsk so I did from a safe mode cmd prompt and its stuck at 11%.What do i do+

I would suggest you read these, then decide how to proceed. Note 11% is a figure that has been observed.
Also consider with which parameters you are running chkdsk, and the comments about patience and time.

just need a simple, official answer - preferably a “yes” or “no”

Q: is it normal (or acceptable, not an error) for windows 10 chkdsk to be stuck on 11% for a long period of time? If “no” feel free to go off on tangents and start getting technical, but only after clearly answering the ?.

Go to Start and type in "eventvwr.msc" (without the quotes) and press Enter

Expand the Windows logs heading, then select the Application log file entry.

Double click on the Source column header.

Scroll down the list until you find the Chkdsk entry
(wininit for Win7) (winlogon for XP).

What do I look for for Win 10 as I am not running Win7 or XP?
