Windows 10: Choosing a default web browser

Since people using Windows 10 were given the right to choose the default browser we wanted, Microsoft should provide a way to install IE11 Microsoft should provide an alternative download? So, where is the Alternative??

Cannot set default web browser

Hi,

My name is Mohammed Shuain, an Independent Advisor & I understand from the description that you want to make the Chrome browser as your default browser. Please follow the below steps.

Step 1:

Go to Search box next to Windows icon and type Default app Settings

Step 2:

Click to open Default app Settings

Step 3:

Under choose, default apps scroll down to see the Web browser

Step 4:

Click on the Browser shown to get the default browsers list to select from

Step 5:

Select Google Chrome

Cannot choose default browser

• Do you get any error code or message when you try to change the default web browser?
  

Method 1: As you have Mozilla Firefox browser installed, suggest you to open or launch the Firefox browser so that you get the message ‘Use Firefox as my default browser’. Click Ok on that message and
your desired browser is set as the default browser.

Method 2: To set Firefox as default from the Firefox settings:

1. Open Firefox menu.
   
2. Click on Options.
   
3. Under General set it as the default browser.
   

You may also select the checkbox against ‘Always check if Firefox is your default browser’, if you wish. This is helpful if any program tries to change your defaults.

Method 3: Further, if the issue still persists, then you may need to uninstall the current version of Mozilla Firefox and then get the latest version of the Firefox web browser from their
official website. Get it installed normally and check if you can set it as your default browser.

Changing default browser to IE and wifi issues

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

• 
  In desktop search, type default app settings and select the result.
  
• 
  Under Web browser, click the current browser (EDGE).
  
• 
  Choose Internet Explorer and set it as
  default.
