  1. Chrome and Adobe apps MME error

    I need your help, guys.

Since last week I noticed that Chrome couldn't find my microphone anymore. Whatever I did, it just didn't work.

Now, I've discovered that even Adobe apps, like Premiere Pro and Audition not only show "MME Internal Error" when launched, but can't even get access to my speakers.

I've already tried to check the privacy settings, but had no luck. Also, last time I updated the system, it was over 10 days ago, so I cannot go back to an older version.

    What can I do??

  2. MME Internal Error

This last weekend, I encountered a problem with the audio inputs on my Windows 10 PC/Laptop and with Adobe Premiere Pro CC2018.

When I went to edit a video to add a voice track to the production, I had encountered an error message "MME Internal Error." I went to google to understand what the meaning of the fault. The recommendations were to set the input of the software to "no inputs."
I did this procedure which did clear out the fault message. However, this did not solve the root of the problem. The program was not able to use the input from my Turtle Beach Pro Headset 60p. So, I had used a couple of other headsets and the same problem
occurred. I had unplugged all the USB hubs from the computer and unplugged the external sound card. The problem still occurred.

Keep in mind, the set up had been working for the last 6 months.

So, I had called Adobe tech support and the technician spent about an hour going through the different methodology to understand the problem and overcome the problem. He was not successful. He had decided to undertake some further research into the issue.

Not satisfied with this outcome and because I am going to end up behind in my video productions, I had tried to use another video production software I have in the event Premiere should fail me. I had loaded up my Cyberlink Power Director program to edit
my video and the program could not find the input to the microphone. This phenomenon occurred with the USB and Analog ports. The programs can see the devices and do work on the output side, but both programs failed to allow for an input signal. Although, they
do recognize that the devices are there on the port.

So, I started to think that the problem might be with the operating system.

I had researched some more issues with the MME Driver/Tool and read some history on the Multimedia Extensions (MME). I had performed some of the recommended methods to correct the problem; Go to Device Manager >Audio Input and Outputs and went through the
list of devices and put them all on Audio Endpoint. This did not solve the problem and when I am the Sound area of the operating system, I cannot get an input to work on the microphone unless I select the checkbox "listen." Then audio comes through the microphone.

My theory is that a recent change has been enabled prior to Saturday night 26 May 2018 with Windows 10 and has created an accidental bug with the audio inputs on my Dell Laptop. I know that it is system wide because my system uses the internal Realtek Audio
card and an external USB Audio Card which both are affected by the same problem. I have researched Dell drivers and Realtek drivers but that has not solved the problem. However, all these devices were working perfectly just Friday Night 25 May 2018.

So, my problem now is do I ask the Operating System Manufacturer to investigate the problem?

  3. Chrome glitch

    Hello Ralph,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

As per the issue description on one of the three users Chrome is not working.
I would appreciate if you can provide us the following information to help us understand the issue better.

    • The account on which you are facing issue with Chrome, does it have the administrator permission?
    • Have you check with other browser? Was the result same?
    • Is the issue specific to only one application or facing issue with other application too?

First, I would suggest you to use Internet Explorer and see if it brings any difference.
Here are the steps through which you can use Internet Explorer.

    • Press the Windows key.

    • Type Internet Explorer in the search box.

    • Right click on Internet Explorer
      (Desktop app).

    • Select Pint to task bar.

    • Try to use Internet Explorer from there and see if it brings any difference.

If you still want to use Chrome then I would suggest you to open the application Chrome in administrator mode and see if it brings any difference. Here are the steps through which you can open Chrome in Administrator mode.

    • Press the Windows key or click on Start icon.
    • Type Google Chrome.
    • Right click on Google Chrome and select the option to Run As Administrator.
    • If everything works fine by running chrome in administrator mode then you may pin it to the task bar.

Hope this would help. If issue still persists post back with current status of your computer and result of the proposed suggestion, we will be happy to assist you.

    Regards,

Chrome and Adobe apps MME error

Adobe Bridge: cannot set as default in Settings Menu

Adobe Bridge is actually a Photo Organizer, it is not designed for single image viewer so if you want to set it as default to open every time you double click a .jpg/.png. Bridge will open the whole folder containing the .jpg/.png that you selected. If this is what you want then try the followings:
    1. Right click on the .jpg ->Open With->Choose another App
    2. If Bridge is on the list. Hi-lite it and put a check mark on: "Always use this app to open .jpg file". If not go to step 3
    3. If Bridge is not on the list scroll to the bottom then select then click on "More Apps"
    4. If Bridge is still not on the list then scroll to bottom again and select "Look for another App on this PC"
    5. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Bridge and select "Bridge.exe" ====>64bit
      Or: C:\Program Files (X86)\Adbode\Adobe Bridge and select "Bridge.exe" ====> 32bit
then put a check mark on "Always use this app to open .jpg file"
    6. Do the same for .png file.
