Windows 10: Chrome files on my Win 10 PC

I have never installed Chrome on my Win 10 PC and don't want it. However, I have lots of files that show up when I do a File Explorer search for "Chrome". Chrome is not listed as an app - so I can't uninstall it. There is a file in C:\Windows\WinSxS called Chrome.browser. Lots of Chrome files elsewhere. Can I safely delete all this stuff? When I go to iCloud and sign out I get an email saying that my iCloud account was accessed by someone using the Chrome browser.

windows 10 deleted my desktop files

Step 1 - I upgraded to Win 10 and lost all my files on Desktop.

Step 2 - Found the files in Network - USers- Desktop

copied all files again to desktop.

Step 3- Restarted my machine again and lost desktop files again.

Step 4 - As suggested did the following as listed below but dont find my files.

• Press “Windows + E”, open This PC/Computer
• Open Local Disc C, open Windows.old
• Click on Users, select your User name
• Go to desktop folder

Cant find my files. Why is Win 10 deleted files again and again from Desktop ?.

7 is an excellent OS, but my dear, if you undertook install of win 10 onto your machine by yourself then reverted, that level is steps above what is needed to simply uninstall and reinstall Chrome on the PC afterwards!

If you want to stayy on 7, no worries, you have until next aug and can still upgrade for free.

I would suggest removing chrome in 7 (control panel, programs and features) and then upgrade to 10.

Then you would install Chrome again within 10 by going to:

Why is Google Chrome not responding?



If the issue persists I would suggest you to uninstall chrome & reinstall in Compatibility mode & check if the issue persists.

This issue may arise due to some corruption in Chrome installation files. I suggest you to try installing Google Chrome in compatibility mode and check if it works. Compatibility mode runs the
program using settings from a previous version of Windows. Follow these steps to install the program in compatibility mode and check if that helps.

• Download the setup file from the Google Chrome website.
• Right-click on the .exe setup file and click on
  ‘Properties’.
• Click on the ‘Compatibility’ tab and check the box
  ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 7/8/8.1 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.
