Not surprising at all when you consider that Chrome is 'bundled' with just about everything you download these days (e.g. CCleaner). Combine that with the fact that most people don't bother to carefully read install screens for things they download - they just 'click through' without reading - then it isn't surprising that Chrome is so 'popular'.

Even my ASUS motherboard driver disc has Google Chrome and Google Toolbar included as 'optional extras' that are ticked by default and you have to make sure they're unticked during installation.

I've had quite a few people come to me and ask "What's this Google Chrome and how did I get it on my computer?". I've even had one or two not even realize they had it installed (despite having the Chrome icon sitting there in the taskbar as plain as the nose on their face).

I haven't used anything except Firefox for the past 10 years.

I reckon if it's bundled it still counts as a download even if you can decline installing it, to be honest it's becoming a pest, the number of things that it's bundled with. IMO good software does not need forced downloads.
I'll stick to Firefox which I've used on Windows and Linux for a very long time.

Stopped using IE last Century, since then Have used a lot of browsers, mainly Firefox, and chrome tried Chrome again a few weeks ago - did not support my Catch up TV so was uninstalled immediately and went back to FF. I use a browser all day everyday,

If it does not do what I need it to do then then however good it may seem on first view, It's usless

  10. Well since IE is getting phased out you would expect it to be declining in use.

I've always used IE and don't plan on changing until I'm forced to.

Gave Chrome another try because of this thread. It couldn't import my FF bookmarks, although it did copy passwords, etc. No way to set it up the way I want, so am sticking to FF. I've used that for years and haven't seen any other browser I like nearly as well.

Firefox is my preferred browser. I have been using it from the early Netscape days. I prefer the Firefox interface and its many customizable features. I also like the ability to download YouTube videos with an add-on Firefox extension.

I was using Chrome as my daily browser for awhile. Even though I did like it I still prefer Pale Moon so I'm back to using Pale Moon again. I was using Edge in my Insider build but with every new release it gets buggier and buggier.
