Windows 10: Chrome using 90+% of memory after update KB5048239 installed

My wife and I have identical Lenovo Ideapad Win10 laptops. She informed me this morning that pages loading in Chome keep hanging. Did usual clear of cache, malwares checks, cold reboot, etc. Still did not work.Seeing 90%+ memory usage from Chrome in task manager.The only thing that she said was different from her system since last night was that some Windows updates were installed on her system overnight. Checked updates and KB5048239 and KB5046613 were installed. Checked my system and only KB5046613 was installed last night. My system is working fine. Did some research and found, in so

Possible minor bug - Update with both Opera 2x & Google Chrome installed

Strange bug: Running the previous-older version of GPU-Z on Windows 7, 64-bit, SP1 and trying to update GPU-Z. Have Opera 23/24 installed as a 2ndary web browser, and Google Chrome installed as default/main web browser.
Steps that work fine:
1) Run GPU-Z whatever version.
2) Open About.
3) Click the links.
Result: Links open correctly in default browser - Google Chrome.

Steps to reproduce bug:
1) Run GPU-Z, version before latest.
2) Try to check for updates.
3) GPU-Z says an update is available.
4) Tell it to show the update.
Result: Link opens incorrectly in Opera 23/24, instead of default Google Chrome web browser.
Expected: Open in Google Chrome instead.

Note: Opera 23/24 uses the same core as Google Chrome.

Please check and fix, if necessary.

Load this checklist video in Edge: (I'm assuming you did at least a few of these steps, since you stated you tried other suggestions earlier) Go through the list of suggestions here to try to repair YouTube for Chrome...

I haven't gotteen to this suggestion yet - but, I've shut down half my Extensions and, now, I get the voice of the Youtube videos - but still not the video. Thought this clue might help.
