Clean 1903 (Pro 64-bit) install - How much diskspace should it use?

    Hi Guys,

I've performed many Win 10 installs over the years and each new version seems to bump up the disk-space requirements slightly. I always install Windows on its own 40GB partition. That's always more than enough for me, since I don't use a huge number of applications.

A typical 1809 (Pro 64-bit) would take up around 16.8GB, give or take a couple of hundred MB.

After an install I usually remove ALL metro apps (the only one I ever use is the calculator), and any native Win 10 apps that can be uninstalled through the control panel.

I would then use CCleaner to uninstall everything else and do a full disk clean. I would then have a clean install (minus the unneeded Windows apps) of around 14GB.

However, with 1903, I seem to be using around 23GB for a fresh, untinkered with, CLEAN install - surely it can't require an additional 7GB?

    What are others finding?

    Cheers,

    Mike.

    :)

Windows 10 pro 64-bit clean installation issue?

    Hi,

Did clean install of windows 10 64-bit version but noticed few things which is as followers.

    • While clean installing I had chosen "Custom: Install Windows only (advanced) " and formatted and wiped all the partition. Created new partition and noticed that system reserved 500MB. Whereas I have read in some website that system reserved 100MB or 350MB.
But why in my case it has allotted 500MB for system reserved ?
    • After clean installation successfully found my desktop wallpaper is same which was there In my previous OS. Since I have chosen clean install then why default wallpaper had not displayed? How come it displayed my previous OS wallpaper?
    • In Control Panel Items I have noticed that Flash player (32-bit) why Flash player 64-bit is not installed?
    • Any latest drivers for NVIDIA GeForce 7100 / NVIDIA nForce 630i for windows 10? Please mention latest driver version.
    • I have 4GB installed memory (RAM) but it says only 3.87 GB usable whereas my system type is 64-bit OS, x64-based processor. Why it is not using all 4GB RAM even though my OS is 64-bit?
    • Did clean install was done properly due to above problem?
    Or

I am ready to reinstall windows 10 64-bit OS again if I made any mistake (based on above question)

How to format the Hard disk by third party free software and clean install windows 10 in it?

    Please note

    • I had downloaded official windows 10 pro iso from Microsoft and chose architecture - Both (32-bit and 64-bit).
    • My BIOS Mode is Legacy.
Thanks in advance for helping my queries.

    Bye,

    Siva

  3. Windows 10 Pro 32 bit to 64 bit Clean Install

you can switch directly to a 64 bit version of Windows 10 with or without a product key.

    • Switching to Windows 10 64 bit is free, you don't have to pay for it. As long as you have a qualifying Windows 7 or 8 or Windows 10 license, you are entitled to use it.
    • Switching requires that you perform a new installation, that means files, applications and settings will be deleted.
    • You will have to reinstall applications and native 64 bit drivers.

Clean 1903 (Pro 64-bit) install - How much diskspace should it use?

Need Help in Clean install Windows 10 pro 64-bit?

    Hi,

For last few months i am running windows 10 pro where i had upgrade from windows 8.1 pro 32-bit to windows 10 pro 32-bit. So my system is activated in windows 10 pro and it is genuine.

Clean 1903 (Pro 64-bit) install - How much diskspace should it use? dbb9fade-4fc8-4424-bec4-d57e497a1977.jpg

When i checked in System type it says 32-bit Operating system, x64-based processor. Out of 4GB RAM only 3.12GB RAM is usable.

That means my processor supports 64-bit OS. Therefore i am planning to clean install windows 10 pro and install 64-bit version so that i can utilize all the 4GB RAM.

Therefore went to media creation tool and downloaded Mediacreation Toolx64 but when i try to run the app it shows error "This app cant run on your pc". But Mediacreation Tool for 32-bit runs smoothly. i think since my current OS is 32-bit therefore mediacreation
    toolx64 is not running.

So i was wondering if i run mediacreation tool 32-bit and choose "create media installation for another pc" and chose architecture both (32-bit and 64-bit) then while clean installing of windows 10 pro OS will i get the option to chose between 64-bit version
    and 32-bit version?

2] Already my windows 10 pro is activated in 32-bit version, will i get any product key error when i clean install windows 10 pro for 64-bit version?

3] Will my windows 10 pro 64-bit will be activated? since my windows 10 pro is activated in 32-bit version.

One of the note of Microsoft says "Your PC will activate online automatically so long as the same edition of
Windows 10 was successfully activated on this PC by using the free
    Windows 10 upgrade offer. "

    Note

    • If you upgraded to Windows 10 on this PC by taking advantage of the free upgrade offer and successfully activated
Windows 10 on this PC in the past, you won't have a Windows 10 product key, and you can skip the product key page by selecting the
Skip button. Your PC will activate online automatically so long as the same edition of
Windows 10 was successfully activated on this PC by using the free
      Windows 10 upgrade offer.
