Windows 10: clean install of Windows 10 fails

So i checked in BIOS to see if Intel VT-x was supported and it is. I then made sure that "Execute Disable Bit" was enabled. I changed some other things around that should be disabled like Fast boot. Does Secure boot need to be disabled as well?

 

it can't hurt at this point AFAIK , just make sure UEFI and GPT are still used during the Install.

You don't need VT-x unless you want to run Virtual Machines etc ? but I think they mention it cos it won't Enable, if NX / XD is OFF , so if you see VT-x in CPUz you know NX is ON , as CPUz does not show the NX bit set or not. That's my understanding , take it for what you paid for it *Smile

Different SSDs and HDDs, different motherboards, different sata cables and different memory configurations. The only thing I can think of that's left is the CPU. Was the same CPU used on all the motherboards? I've never heard of a CPU causing this but there has to be a common denominator with all your setups that is causing this problem.

 

Same cpu across the board. I've never had a bad cpu and this one registers in bios. I might be the issue but I highly doubt it.

I sat on the phone with a really nice Newegg tech support rep Tommy. We will have another session tomorrow and I will post back here the results when we find a working configuration.

 

I just RAM'd a CPU to Intel that would boot to the Bios but no further , so don't discount it 100 % , perhaps Newegg will send a new one ?

I had an AMD K10 like that a good while back during a II x4 to II x6 upgrade had to exchange it and the replacement was fine *092

 

RMAd mobo, cpu, and ram. Should be here tomorrow...or today however you look at it. I'll keep you posted
