    Clean Install or Upgrade - SP3


    Hi Guys

    New to the forum, but been reading for a while.

    I have a Surface Pro 3 I7/512Gb/8GB Ram - Upgraded to WinX
    But... I want to know, is it worth doing a clean install instead of just leaving it as it is? Has anyone seen any performance issues with the upgrade or performance improvements with a clean install?

    Clean installing WIN10 with WD My Cloud Mirror (4tb)

    Any suggestions prior to either upgrading to WIN 10 or clean installing will be appreciated.

    I use WD MCM 4TB as storage on my SP3 with file backup on MCM's second drive.

    No files are on my Surface Pro 3 other than program files and a few working files on my SP3 desktop. Everything else is in MCM.

    I'm considering a clean install AFTER the upgrade which is the recommended procedure: upgrade to WIN10, get all credentials locked into the WINDOWS/ MICROSOFT system then create an iso and do a clean install, or clean install from the WIN10 on the PC itself.

    Do you think I need to do anything special to prepare for WIN10 or to WD MCM, which is network connected, during this process?

    Hi,

    I am running WP12 on a Win 10 machine...

    I have done both an upgrade of Win 7 to 10 with WP12 already installed, and a clean install of Win 10 and then installed WP12...

    I have had no issues at all...

    The only thing I did was to copy the CD to a folder and set the Compatibility Mode of SETUP to XP SP3...

    I didn't install most f the extra stuff... Just the WP, Office Ready and Quatro...

    BTW... after the installation I updated to SP3 with no issues...
