Control Panel> Language> Advanced Settings



Either turn it off. Or you can hide it using "options"

Try [WINKEY+R] then type sysdm.cpl - press Enter

Advanced > Performance > Visual Effects

Note down or take a screenshot of your current settings then adjust like this:





RE: Prevent windows from randomly changing how i view my folders

You'd need to turn off auto folder template discovery then apply desired view settings to folders, sub-folders and libraries.

Someone else can help or I can post more in a couple of days time.

Setting General Items for all folders and libraries stops windows automatically changing folder view settings.

 

Just noticed this. Right click blank area ot taskbar and open taskbar settings. Scroll down to "Turn system icons on/ off" and disable Input Indicator.

 

Tried that already, it comes back after rebooting.

 

Just hide it then.

 

Strange coming back on reboot. I have made no changes and after reboot the icon stays gone.

Setting a folder template for all folders will also disable Automatic Folder Type Discovery. You will still always be able to manually change the template and view of any folder to what you like though.

Automatic Folder Type Discovery is when Windows will automatically change the template of a folder to match the file type of the last file added or saved in the folder. For example, if your folder contains music files and you add a picture file, then Windows may change the folder template and view to the "Picture" template to match the new picture file.

They are still there, and they are very annoying. However, after using 7+ tweaker, they only appear if i have two or more grouped programs running on the taskbar.

I have set my folders to general items and checked the also apply this template to all subfolders. Will see if it works.

 

Just had a look at that software and it would appear to override some windows settings.

7+ Taskbar Tweaker allows you to configure various aspects of the Windows taskbar.
Most of the configuration options it provides can’t be tweaked using the taskbar properties or the registry.


So no matter what we suggest the program could interfere. You need someone else who has installed this software to advise.

 

I found a way to get rid of the language input indicator, this guide. It's a bit tricky and requires a bit of tweaking, but it works.

With that being said, i wouldnt have to spend my time doing that if the option to hide it the same way as you do with all the other system icons would actually work.

 

Well done. The strange thing is that those instructions would appear to be the same as in this post:

I think its because you have to check the use the desktop language bar when it’s available option before you hide the language input indicator, which wasn't highlighted in your screengrab. If not, then I don't know. Anyway, thanks for your help.

 

I found a way to get rid of the safely remove hardware icon by following this guide. You have to download and install a program to get rid of it, which is ridicilious. I can understand if you are using a program to perform multiple tweaks on your computer, but having to install a program and accept its agreements just to get rid of the icon is a bit silly.

If anyone else have a better solution, please let me know.

I have also downloaded winaero tweaker and ultimate windows tweaker to see if they can help with some of this.
