Windows 10: Clear Recent Files from Quick Access in Default Profile

I am creating a new image but prior to doing CopyProfile, I forgot to clear Recent Files. Now I have these files in the default profile. How do I get rid of them from Quick Access? Registry? Is there a path?

Quick Access Crashes Explorer

Probably you will do it again someday (unless MS fix this problem) just clearing the cache.

My suggest is go to File Explorer Option and changes in "Open explorer for" to "My computer" in place of "Quick Access".

You won't be able to see your recent opened files but you won't have this issue again.

I don't think people use Quick access to open recent files, normally people do it directly from the software that opens those files.

Deleted Files in Quick Access

If Quick Access is disabled, why or how was the deleted from my drive? I used it a few minutes before clearing it from Quick Access.

You can open quick access and try every possible way to delete a file and folder from there and you can not. I did not say quick access was disabled, I said the delete function in quick access is disabled.

If not an immediate solution, the tutorial does give the location of these items, so you could adapt appropriately.

 

I saw that. Those don't help me. I need a registry location to clear them out or a path and in my default profiles in Recent, there's nothing but those files show up still.

I would suggest looking in the folder...
C:\Users\Default\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations

...as that would be the 'template' used to create each new user's
%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations

 

So odd. I looked there and nothing.

 

Thanks everyone for trying to help me. I just did a CopyProfile again but cleared out the Recent Files prior.
