Windows 10: Clearing out unwanted files on Windows 10

I have an oldish HP Laptop with a 32Gb Solid State C Drive it appears only 29.1Gb is usable and I can't run Windows Updates because of low disk space I'm told there's only 154Mb free.I use the available utilities and it tells me there are about 1.5Gb of Temporary Files and 1.1Gb of "Other" Files, but when I select those to clear them out I'm only shown options to clear a couple of Meg at best AND it appears the act of clearing them out uses disk space and I finish up with less than when I started.What's going on?If all of that space is being used why can't I see what's using it and get rid

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Clear the 'cache' in file explorer for already used picture tags?


If you set some tags for your *.jpg pictures, the windows 10 file explorer shows them in the "details pane" on the right side.





This list can get very long and with some wrong or no longer used entries.
How can I clear this list / cache / suggestions?

Or how can I stop the file explorer to suggests already used Tags?

 

Clear Pagefile on Shutdown


I've been looking into clearing the pagefile, and I found the following steps at a somewhat dated webpage:

1. In the registry editor, navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management
2. Set ClearPageFileAtShutdown to the REG_DWORD value of 1.
3. Restart Windows.

I'm just wondering whether those steps are still valid, and, if so, does clearing the pagefile work as advertised?
