    Client dns 100% cpu


    Hello,The client dns service is consuming between 50 to 60% of the cpu for a few days. This has made me have to deactivate this service but, when I deactivate it, I get the RPC error. It is incomprehensible that this service consumes so much and the RPC service depends on it. What can this problem be due to?I have got Windows 10 Home

    Hello,

    I have run the DNS Lookup program and I don't see anything unusual. However, there are 'peaks' in which the client dns service is with more than 60% of the CPU, blocking the rest of the tasks.
    I can't find any explanation for it, and I don't understand why when I deactivate this damn service, RPC errors start to occur.

    I would take a look at what requests are being queried, You may have a program going nuts making thousands of queries a second.

    Note: my Win 10 makes about 40,000 a day yours maybe more or less, Windows ten is a very chatty OS so it might be difficult to figure out if there actually is a problem.

    One question for you is are you using the hosts file or some other method to block sites, This also causes some programs or apps to make a lot of queries.


    I use this portable app to look at what apps or programs are making DNS queries.
