CLONE with Macrium Reflect (6.3 full) ERROR 12348 [IMG]

I am getting a new hard drive WD1003FZEX this Friday to replace a 4 year old Seagate in my Dell XPS8700.
I backup every day using Macrium Reflect 6.3 (paid). I always look at the Log and get NO errors, none !!
In preparation I thought I try the CLONE method several times and each time got ERROR 12348.
I searched the internet for hours, tried several "fixes" but I still get the error. Any suggestions ????

    Happy New Year,

    :)

I Back-Up everyday (especially using Win 10 Evaluation Insider) on MR backups I always get a clean backup, Verified, NO Errors.
I am removing my Seagate HD and direct replacement with a new WD Black.
Do I have to Format the new WD first ?? How ?? Put "format program" also on my recovery CD ??

Simplest way is to forget cloning. Macrium or any other.....too many reported issues.

Make sure you have a good bootable Macrium thumb drive or DVD. Do a complete Macrium image backup of every partition on the Seagate, with verify. Unplug that backup drive and set aside. Remove Seagate and plug in WD. Plug in your backup drive. Boot from your thumb/DVD. In Macrium you will see the new WD as completely empty. From the backup image, drag each partition down to the WD, in order, left to right. Restore all. Remove thumb/DVD and reboot. Should come right up to your OS.

Note: This method using Macrium will ensure the GPT/MBR and NTFS status is transferred correctly to the WD drive. The BCD data will be handled by Macrium and will be consistent. As will the partition IDs. You do not need to format the drive first.

Added side benefit, you will have a complete system on your backup drive that you can look at and/or copy individual files (including OS files) if needed using Macrium and it's Explore function.

You do not have to format it first. And, think of it this way - isn't this one of the exact reasons you do backup images? If your operating hard drive physically fails, what would you have to do?
