Are you looking to dual boot? Looks like you have a faithful clone of Disk 0 onto Disk 3. If you physically remove Disk 0 and connect Disk 3 to the connector that had Disk 0, it should boot.

If you're wanting to dual boot, then you need action outside the scope of Macrium to accomplish that.

    What say you?

I dont need dual boot. All I want is to boot from the new drive and have as C: in order to continue using all apps.
I didn't swap the drives as you are suggesting but I went to Bios to change the Boot to the new drive. The drive wasn't identified as a bootable drive.

  5. Hi,
If you have 2 of the same install on 2 different disks you are dual booting *Smile

I will reformat my current drive as soon as I get the new one working.

For the most definitive test, I would reset the BIOS to prior settings and just physically take out or disconnect Disk 0 and then reconnect the cable to Disk 3 or move Disk 3 into the bay and connect where Disk 0 was. Boot it up. Latest builds of Windows 10 have been finicky in that regard. There should be no risk in this as long as you don't drop Disk 0 or zap it with a magnet.

There ARE other paths you can take but this will be the most direct for the moment.

If boot doesn't work, you can boot from Macrium Rescue USB/CD/DVD to fix boot problems. Ultimately, you can swap Disk 0 back inline if all fails and we can advise you on another approach.

Ys, I am going to swap drives and take disk 0 out. If Bios takes the new one as boootable then it is all I need. Will post tonight.

  10. Hi,
Should be all that is needed
The bios sees the original as the original because of the hdd i.d.. the only thing that can't be transferred in a clone.
You might have to set active the boot loader with cmd on the clone since you didn't remove the original and just attempted to boot to it with the original still installed.
Why most people suggest restoring a system image instead of cloning.

Not to mention if you didn't disable secure boot before the clone creation.

After the clone I see a number of partitions on my new drive that weren't seen on source disk. Why is that?

    Thanks

Did you delete all partitions from target drive before cloning? Can you show us a screenshot of what you're seeing?

I was wrong. The source does have all these partitions.
