Windows 10: Colour profile reverts back to old 'default' settings after laptop boots up

I have calibrated my screen using a ColorVision colour management profile, which loads the profile automatically when the computer is started. Shortly after the laptop boots up and shows the desktop and icons, a message appears saying that the profile has been loaded into the video card. You can see the screen colours change as the new profile is loaded by the ColorVision software.After 20 seconds the screen reverts back to the default colour profile supplied with Windows. I've gone into the colour management settings and set my new profile as the default, and removed any others that were dis

Lost default photo viewer after profile rebuild

Thanks Brink. I've tried those steps before i started searching Google. After the profile rebuild i don't have the Photo app listed to choose to make it default in either the system settings for default apps or the Open With option.

I can't even find it doing a search. Seems to have been removed somehow with the profile rebuild, which doesn't make sense.

Might be helpful to list what i've done I've done the open with check, the choose default program in the system menu, tried that in device manager default programs also. I've checked the programs and features Turn windows features on/off and it's not listed there (never thought it was but that was a suggestion), searched the MS Store, it's not listed there either.

I don't like playing in the registry unless i have defined steps and haven't found anything for this yet, just the Win7 version like in my OP.

 

My colour is gone and profile is displaying in black and white

Hi, my bub has hit something on my laptop keyboard and now my profile is displaying in black and white only. When I first start up the display is in colour, but once I login to my profile it reverts to black and white. I've tried colour settings under display,
but cannot rectify the problem.

Please help?

"should I remove it？" Not necessary, the one being used is the one with (default) after the name. As I said just select another from what is in your "All profiles" and add it. Make it the default is your choice. The one I suggested comes with Windows as standard. You do not necessarily get any profiles from the manufacturer of the Laptop/PC/Monitor. The last 2 CalibratedDisplayProfiles are listed in All Profiles. "I don't want to use this now (I want my colors back to default)" We do not know what you have been doing, you may have fiddled with Graphics drivers and/or Monitor colour controls.
