    Greetings,

I recently bought and installed an SSD. I installed windows on it and afterwards formatted my drive C and D, which is partitions of Disk 0. After deleting drive D from "Disk Management" it became unallocated space and I thus tried to extend C with D. I receive the following error: "There is not enough space on the disk(s) to complete this operation". I also tried to create a new simple volume from the unallocated drive but I receive the same error.

Below is a screenshot of how it looks:

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

    :)

  3. Trying to combine disk space

Yes, as suspected, you appear to have two physical drives, one SSD and the other a mechanical hard disk.

The Disk 2 has unallocated free space.

Right click the D: volume on Disk 2 click the ‘Extend Volume’ option on the contextual menu, click ‘Yes’ when the warning appears.

A wizard will now begin that will guide through the steps to merge back the unallocated space with your system partition.

The wizard provides a simple procedure to merge back the unallocated space with the rest of D. Once you have selected the space, click Next, at the end of the wizard, you will see the amount allocated.

Follow the procedures from a my previous reply to partition the drive into two so you can free up space on C:

    Unallocated Space to C Drive

    Hi Travis,

It appears that a disk partition was created but was never assigned its allocation. Assuming there are no files stored in the unallocated partition, perform these steps to combine it with your C: drive:

    • In Disk Management, right-click on (CCombine 2 partitions of the same disk. Receive error: "There is not enough space on the... :) which appears next to the
      Unallocated partition.
    • Select Extend.

Let us know if you're able to combine the spaces after following the steps above.

    Regards.
