  1. completely removing onedrive

Hi. I'm want to use bash to create a folder in my desktop. I type:

    cd desktop

    mkdir newfolder

and the newfolder is created in c:/users/myname/desktop

but the folder isn't in my actual desktop as this is in onedrive. I know this because if I create a new folder in my desktop and check its properties it says C:\Users\myname\OneDrive\Desktop.

I really want to disable this and have my desktop be in its original place.

I've already disabled the device in onedrives account configuration and restarted my pc but the problem remains there. How do I stop it? thanks

  2. Windows 10 - OneDrive

Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.

If that is still insufficient, there is a batch uninstaller for OneDrive available online. I can copy the code here if you need it.

    completely removing onedrive

Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Thanks for the suggestions and for the time to respond completely removing onedrive :) Best regards.

And thanks for the tip of that program, I'll have it on my list.
