Windows 10: Completely stuck and need help ASAP!

I cannot sign into my Microsoft personal account - my password is not working and I cannot get help from virtual support or calling in without requiring me to sign into my account. I have not made any account changes but I need to get rid of this old laptop and since I don’t use it anymore there’s no need for me to pay for the subscription any longer. I followed all of the tips on the website and none of the reset forms recognize me. This is the most infuriating process - if anyone can help me - please!

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
