    few questions

    what saves more space compressing or compact os

    i did a few clean installs and one time it was in the compact state another time it wasn't and some times compressing the folder actually made it bigger so just wondering...

    CompactOS command vs NTFS compression - on SSD

    Hello all.

    I have a question.

    How does CompactOS compare to NTFS compression in terms of ratio and speed (performance when using the computer)? do they deliver similar results?

    Also, if i enable CompactOS compression, will this put any strain in terms of reads and writes on my SSD?

    compressing vs compactos

    Which files and folders are compressed when using compact.exe /CompactOS

    I am thinking of using NTFS compression (LZNT1) on my SSD using Windows 7, but I was a little unsure as to which folders would be a good candidate.

    I was aware that Windows 10 has introduced new compression algorithms, and it can automatically compress operating system files using compact.exe /CompactOS

    I thought it would be useful if anyone can shed light onto which files and folders are compressed automatically by compact.exe /CompactOS on Windows 10; both for Windows 10 users, and people who maybe want to try and implement their own compression.
