Windows 10: Compromised Account

Hi, I just had a notification from PayPal of two payments for xbox live, which coincided with 2 texts from Microsoft flagging up an outlook email... go to account.live.com if this wasn't you etc. I don't have an xbox, PayPal alerted, cards cancelled etc. Now when I investigated my Microsoft account, my profile had a different name and the profile stated a new birth date and country. Changed password, downloaded Microsoft authenticator on my phone and changed my profile details back.... My question relates to my Microsoft account which now appears to have no history of billing and subscriptions (such as Office), no details of devices which have Office (for example) installed etc. I've had my account for a good few years and I'm confused. I only changed my password! Whats happened? Any advice would be welcomed as when I phoned Microsoft UK, the guy left me on hold and then hung up after 15 minutes. (if it makes any difference, which I doubt, my computer's an imac)

Remove account


I suggest you backup your personalized files first before removing the account.
To delete an account, follow these steps:

1. Press WIN + X keys and click Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
2. Type the following command and press Enter. Replace test with the name of your sister's account. Code:

   net user test /del

 

Microsoft Account compromised

If it still does not help, follow the below steps and check if it helps.

A. If you can still sign in to your Microsoft account, you should change your password immediately. This will prevent anyone who knows your password from accessing the account. On the
Security & privacy page, tap or click Change password and then follow the instructions.

B. If you can't sign in to your account, your password may have been changed. Tap or click
Can't access your account? Select I think someone else is using my Microsoft account, tap or click
Next, and follow the instructions.

You can also go directly to the
Reset your password page, and follow the instructions.
