Windows 10: Computer crashed and wont restart

Insert the old hard drive and try SeaTools again.

 

Things seem to be going from bad to worse. I put in the old drive and when I turned on the computer the screen was black. No cursor or anything. The light indicator for the hard drive seemed to act like things were loading normally but I couldn't tell what was happening. I put the other hard drive back in and rebooted. The screen was black again. I should mention that when I first inserted the old drive I didn't plug it in far enough and when I turned on the computer there was a message saying that there was nothing to boot from so at that point the screen graphics worked. Also, this is an all-in one computer.

 

It is starting to sound like a motherboard problem to me.

 

Any suggestion on what to do next?

 

You could try a reset/clean install on the new hard drive, if it somewhere goes wrong than I'm afraid that I can't think of anything else that could solve your problem but replacing the device.

I'm not sure if it is true what I'm saying, but my experience with all-in-one systems is that they are like laptops, when it comes down to hardware you can't do as much as you would like.

 

OK. Thanks for your help anyhow. I think I agree with you about all in ones. We had a specific reason for getting one but maybe there are some drawbacks to it.

I hope you can get into Windows normally a.s.a.p., I don't know how old your system is and if there is still warranty but if there is you should use it.
