Windows 10: Computer Freezing

Dear microsoft community


I am seeking help with a problem that has been frustrating me for the past week, i have looked everywhere online to try and find answers but ive had no luck with anything


The problem i am seeking help with is when i am playing fortnite, My computer will be perfectly fine doing any task i want but as soon as i want to play fortnite it goes really slow and then freezes. I will try to explain what exactly is happening so you can understand and try to help me


When i start fortnite it comes up to the loading screen and it becomes really choppy and seems like i am only getting 10fps as it freezes and then unfreezes itself 2 seconds later, once i get into the fortnite lobby my game completely freezes and the only way i can unfreeze it is if i press the windows key, while the game is freezing i still have around 200Fps and 60Ping so it is not anything to do with my fps or internet. if i press the windows key it unfreezes itself for a second and then freezes again, if i open my Locker or any other tab where it does not have any major graphics it is perfectly fine and runs smoothly, but when i go back to the lobby screen it freezes and i have to keep clicking the windows key just to unfreeze the game so i can change screen, when i am in the game settings and i auto set the graphics it comes up with Ultra but it still does the same thing like last time, i put the graphics all the way down to Low and it still has the same effect


When looking at the task manager while it is doing this everything is perfectly fine and not out of the ordinary, everything is below 30% and none of the components are reaching extreme temperatures, but still freezes, this does happen on other games as i have tried to play RUST but have had the same issue

Intel core i7 x980 3.33GHz

12gb ddr3 Ram

Radeon Rx 460 4gb

1Tb HDD

To assist you better, please provide us the below information:

• Have you tried to perform startup repair of the computer?
• When you say that "The screen was freeze, neither the Keyboard nor the Mouse responded.", when exactly the screen is getting freeze? Is it at login screen or while booting the computer?
• When you switch on the computer, are you able see anything on the screen?
