Windows 10: Computer log out after 2 failed attempts at password

My problem with my computer has only just occurred. I opened my computer up and typed my password in. I got it wrong. I did it again, also wrong. Suddenly it tells me I have to wait 2 hours before I can try again, So I do that. It works when I try again The next I try to log in again. I mess up twice and now it has happened again. I do not know what Is wrong and it has never happen editing before. I’m on windows 11

Password Attempts

Hello.

I tried logging into my brother’s laptop and had many password failed attempts. The next time he signed in and actually had access to the laptop, it ran significantly slower. Could I be at fault for trying to log into his microsoft account repeatly? Is there
any correlation between how fast the computer runs and the failed password attempts?

 

2 computers same acct...please help

Hi, I have 2 computers in my home. Both computers have the the user name and password when logging in. Also when I go to my Microsoft acct. both are listed under devices. I would like to have it so both devices have there own log in. If I delete the other computer listed in my acct. would this solve the problem? Also, would I be able to log into the other computer since it was deleted and how would I then create a new username and password? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

This issue might occur if there is Internet connectivity issue.



To assist you better, please provided us the information below:

• When you say that "my password in it says it's incorrect", are you trying to login as Microsoft Account or Local Account on the computer?
• Have you made any changes to the computer prior to the issue?

I suggest you to follow the steps below to check whether caps lock or Num lock in enabled or not while entering the password.

Also I recommend you to enter the password through On-Screen Keyboard. Check if it helps.

1. At the login page.

2. Click on Ease of Access icon which is present at the bottom right corner of the Screen.

3. Then click on On-Screen Keyboard option from the list.

4. Enter the password through On-Screen Keyboard and try to sign in.
