Windows 10: Computer out of control

Hi,


periodically, but lately more and more often, my mouse cursor will start wobbling around on its own and I can't control it. Then my open windows start fading in and out, opening new windows. My desktop moves to one half with all the icons. The only way to stop it is to shut down the laptop. Then things will work fine for a while, then it starts up again.


My anti-virus software and other troubleshooting programs are not picking up anything abnormal. Does this sound familiar to anyone? What should I do?

I'd rather just set it and forget it as the feature list of RBE suggested it was capable of doing.

 

Xbox Controllers aren't working on Windows 10 Computer

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.



I understand that you are unable to use Xbox controller on your computer. We would like to know were you able to connect the Xbox controller to the computer earlier.



I would suggest you to try using a different port to connect the controller and see if that works.



However, as you have mentioned that when you try to update the driver through Device Manager, you get the message that “Windows found drivers for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install them”, we can try installing alternate
drivers.



Refer the steps mentioned below:

1. Press Windows Logo key + X, and select
   Device Manager.
   
2. Right click on the Xbox controller driver and select
   Update Driver.
   
3. Select Browse my computer for Driver Software.
   
4. In the next screen, select Let me pick from a list of available drivers.
   
5. Check the box Show Compatible Hardware and select the driver.
   
6. Click on Yes if you get any prompt.
   

However, I would also suggest you to refer the steps mentioned in the article
Error: “USB Device not recognized” when you try to access
a USB external hard drive. except Method 1 and 2 and check if that helps in resolving the issue.

volume control error

The issue with volume control could have happened due to the corrupted or outdated driver. To resolve your issue, we suggest that you follow the 2 methods below:

Method 1: Run the Audio Troubleshooter on the system.



Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with Sound. We would suggest you run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your Audio



Refer these steps:

• Press Windows key+X, select Control panel.
• Change the view as an option on the top right to Large icons.
• Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel
• Run the playing Audio troubleshooter

Method 2. Uninstall and reinstall the latest drivers from the manufacturer website.

Follow the steps to update the audio drivers:

• Press Windows key + X key and click Device Manager.
• Expand the Sound, Video and game controllers.
• Right-click on the Sound card and click on Uninstall.
• Install the latest audio driver from the manufacturer website.
