Windows 10: Computer refuses to boot into Windows.

I will have to recap my entire situation:

Apparently a week ago there was a power outage, as my PC (still functional at that time) was still on.

As I turned on my PC, it would never boot into windows, but instead send me to the bios, where I was suggested to play around with some settings such as CSM and Secure boot by other forums which never lead to successfully booting into Windows. Then on other forums I was told taking the lithium battery out of my motherboard and connecting two jumper pins to reset CMOS settings would resolve the issue, but it never did.

I later came up with my own theoretical solution that involves installing a new copy of Windows on my m.2 ssd so that I could at least gain access to Windows where I could then move files around. As you can guess that didnt work either, as whenever it was done installing and it said "Your PC will restart in 10 seconds" it rebooted, followed by the purple screen where you select your language. I tried this at least a couple times in different variations where you pull your usb out before it restarts.


I just really want my PC to function again. My safety net is getting parts replaced, but I don't look foward to that. Thanks for reading my essay.

Asus z370-plus

intel i5 8600k

2x Viper 8166mhz 8gb ram sricks

Samsung Evo 860 (I tried installing windows on there but I might of just ruined the files on there. oh well)

MP300 110gb m.2 (Where my original windows is and my several failed installation attempts)

Computer refuses to boot

All of a sudden after opening up my computer to remove one of my ram sticks to check the timings on it after replacing it and powering on from a cold start my computer will not boot and does not show any picture on the screen, it starts up with all of the fans going but then it shuts off after 10-15 seconds, what troubleshooting steps should i take???

I suggest you check if you are able to boot into Windows Recovery Environment using installation media. Follow the steps provided below and check.

• • Insert the installation USB and boot Windows 10 from it.
  • In the ‘Windows setup’ page select the ‘language to install’, ‘Time and currency format’ and the ‘keyboard or input method’ and click on ‘next’.
  • Click on ‘Repair your computer’ and select ‘Troubleshoot’.

Check if you are able to boot to this window. If you are unable to boot to this window, I suggest you to contact the manufacturer and check.
