Windows 10: computer screen is black when i start it up

every time i boot up my laptop, the screen is black but the screen is still showing light. My pc froze when i hit the windows button last night so i decided to just turn it off with the power button, but now i'm worried becuase i can't get my computer to work. I have not downloaded anything new (aside from a few games on steam). If i leave it running, eventually a screen that says "preparing automatic repair" pops up but never does anything. hitting cnrl + alt + delete on the black screen just makes the screen go pitch black for a few seconds.

Black Screen after Log on


Computer boots to windows log on,have no password here.After a minute on log on it go to a black screen,stays there forever. I can get to Task Manager from black Screen,lost on what to do next. Just want my Windows 10 back, not sure what caused this problem. Any Suggestion on what my next step should be?*Sad
